Bonhams Mercedes Stuttgart Sale – SOLD

This is a fabulous 1:8 large scale model by the high end model makers Amalgam of the Mercedes W196 Streamliner that took the Grand Prix world by storm in the 1954 season. Nothing like it had appeared in Formula 1 before with its covered wheels and sleek aerodynamic design it won its very first race in the French Grand Prix at Reims with Jaun Manuel Fangio at the wheel.

The model has a removable engine cover to reveal in incredible detail the straight 8 cylinder engine. It sits on a black stand with plaques detailing the model, the limited edition number and is covered by a perspex case. It also comes with all the original packaging when new and the Certificate of Authenticity from Amalgam. The model run was limited to a maximum of 199 units. This particular model was made in 2009 and is in as new condition.

This model will be available at the forthcoming Bonhams Mercedes Sale in Stuttgart, Germany on the 28th March 2015

I aslo have another Amalgam 1:8 scale Mercedes W196 open wheeled version at the same price, as raced by Stirling Moss in 1955 winning the British Grand Prix at Aintree. Please contact me for further details.
